Pudgy Penguins has debuted Pengu Clash, a 1v1 multiplayer battler hosted on Telegram, marking its first foray into Web3 gaming. The game leverages the project's iconic NFT characters in fast-paced minigames like curling and football, built on The Open Network (TON) by Elympics.
Unlike earlier crypto-centric Telegram games, Pengu Clash emphasizes genuine gameplay over token farming mechanics. The rollout began with waitlist access for 1.1 million users ahead of public availability.
CEO Luca Netz positions the launch as an IP expansion play rather than a direct revenue driver. "Money is made, but that is a byproduct of our IP reaching the masses," he told Cointelegraph. The release follows broader brand-building initiatives from the NFT project.
